Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs within in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will work under a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized behavior plans and data-tracking for progress. The role involves direct student support, de-escalation techniques, and collaboration with parents and staff in a dynamic educational setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals set forth in their IEP.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors and progress toward goals.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment and supervise students.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
