Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools seeks a Behavioral Paraprofessional to provide structured supervision, academic assistance, and positive behavioral support for students needing additional guidance. The role reinforces school expectations and supports successful reintegration into the classroom.

You will work under the Principal, assist with student behavior plans, document progress, and maintain confidentiality while collaborating with teachers, families, and service providers.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree or 48 semester hours or ACT WorkKeys pass.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama child protection laws.
• Experience in supervision or behavioral intervention preferred.
• Must follow safety protocols and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral support and supervision to students.
• Supervise students in student support room and designated settings.
• Encourage self-regulation and reintegration into the regular classroom.
• Use approved strategies to address behavior and de-escalate.
• Document student conduct, attendance, work completion, and progress.
• Communicate student progress to teachers and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and cooperate with staff.
