Job summary

Baystate Health Staffing Optimization Team (BHSOT) is building a pool of experienced Behavioral Resource Technicians (BRT) to provide flexible patient care and behavioral health support across facilities in Western Massachusetts.

As a BHSOT Pool BRT, you may be placed in a Facility or System-Wide role, with shifts across day and night coverage, and assignments that span multiple clinical areas to support staffing needs and safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• CPR through the American Heart Association BLS Provider certification required prior to start.
• CPI certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Relevant clinical or patient care experience- at least 12 months.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in all areas included within the assigned clinical grouping.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety observation of the patient or patients to whom you are assigned.
• Maintain a safe environment and interact with patients, families, and staff in a caring and professional manner.
• Provide direct patient care and assistance as assigned, which may include bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning patients.
• Observe patients closely and recognize changes in condition, behavior, mood, or activity.
• Report any changes in the patient’s condition or behavior to the nurse immediately.
• Accurately document patient observations every 15 minutes throughout the shift, in accordance with established procedures.
• Remain awake, alert, and attentive at all times when providing patient safety observation.
• Work in all areas included within the assigned grouping.
