Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Behavioral Resource Technician (BRT) to join Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. The BRT provides safety and support, working with patients, families, and staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

The role offers growth opportunities and direct care experience while supporting patients and collaborating with a diverse health care team. Full-time hours are on days, with 12-hour shifts and rotating weekend/holiday scheduling.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant patient care experience. This experience could include but is not limited to working with behavioral health patients, direct patient care, patients in a group home setting, experience as a paraprofessional, or has successfully worked in a BRT Apprentice Role for 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provides safety observation of the patient and intervenes as necessary; documents patient status every 15 minutes and communicates with the RN.
• Provides care for the patient; bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning; assists with activities of daily living; redirection and de-escalation as needed.
• Maintains a safe environment; stays with one-to-one observed patients; identifies safety risks; transports patients as required; reports hazards to the RN.
