Job summary

Cognito LLC, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to support IHSC at the T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, Texas.

You will deliver comprehensive mental health screenings, coordinate care, and educate patients within an integrated care setting under the direction of a licensed Behavioral Health Provider. Responsibilities include scheduling, documentation in eHR, crisis response, and participation in psycho-educational groups while

Qualifications

• Associates degree in behavioral science or related field.
• AAPT level-3 certification within 12 months of hire.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Ability to pass background check and immunizations.
• Experience in mental health care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform behavioral health screenings and patient education.
• Coordinate appointments and document in electronic health records.
• Observe patient behaviors and monitor safety and wellness.
• Facilitate basic psycho-educational groups and individual education.
• Assist in care planning and medication management documentation.
• Escort detainees to appointments and respond to emergencies as needed.
