Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide intensive behavioral health interventions in community settings for children and adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses.

The BHT works under supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional as part of an interdisciplinary team to implement treatment goals and sound clinical interventions. The position offers up to 40 hours per week with non-traditional hours, travel to homes and schools, and a chance to

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and ability to complete 40+ hours of training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing behavioral health services.
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from an accredited organization.
  • Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT).
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Strong Verbal and Written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance required.

Job description

Summary of the Position: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a non-traditional way of providing intense individualized mental health interventions and support services in a variety of community-based settings to children/adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses and their families.

  • These settings include, but are not limited to home, school, community settings (camp, daycare, etc.).
  • The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, and implements specific treatment goals.
  • Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Flexible Schedule - up to 40 hours per week; non-traditional hours.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must meet one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40+ hours of training
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health services
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organization
  • Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
