Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide intensive, individualized behavioral health interventions for children and adolescents across home, school, and community settings.

Under supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional, you will implement treatment goals as part of an interdisciplinary team, support families, and strive to help youths function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 40+ hours of training
  • Minimum 2 years of behavioral health service experience
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification
  • Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification
  • RBT 40-hour training course required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MS Office proficiency; experience with an EHR is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

Job description

Schedule: Availability up to 40 hours a week; flexible schedule may include evenings and weekends.

Summary of the Position:Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a non-traditional way of providing intense individualized mental health interventions and support services in a variety of community-based settings to children/adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses and their families.

  • These settings include, but are not limited to home, school, community settings (camp, daycare, etc.).
  • The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, and implements specific treatment goals.
  • Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Qualifications/Requirements:Must meet one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40+ hours of training OR
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health services OR
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organization OR
  • Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
  • RBT 40-hour training course will be required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an electronic health record system is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking is a plus.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage required.
