Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide intensive behavioral health interventions to children and adolescents in home, school, and community settings.

The role operates under supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional and participates on an interdisciplinary team to meet treatment goals. The position offers flexible hours up to 40 per week, with non-exempt, part-time hourly status.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 40+ hours of training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health services.
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification.
  • Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT).
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
  • Strong verbal and written computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.

  • Help clients function at their best in the least restrictive setting.

Status: Part Time Hourly

FLSA classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is a non-traditional way of providing intense individualized mental health interventions and support services in a variety of community-based settings to children/adolescents with psychiatric diagnoses and their families.

  • These settings include, but are not limited to home, school, community settings (camp, daycare, etc.).
  • The BHT is supervised by a Qualified Mental Health Professional, participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team and implements specific treatment goals.
  • Their goal is to implement sound clinical interventions and supportive services to enable children/adolescents to maintain and function to the best of their ability in the least restrictive setting.

Availability to work flexible hours up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must meet one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and ability to completed 40+ hours of training OR
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of provision of behavioral health services OR
  • Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from accredited organization OR
  • Certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families
  • Strong verbal and written computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus
