Job summary

Center For Discovery is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech I to support patients through admission to discharge. Responsibilities include patient safety, interventions, group facilitation, and collaboration with the clinical team.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, CPI, CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, and preference for prior recovery experience. This is a part-time, onsite position in Los Angeles, CA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.
• Must obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire; training provided.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid; training provided.
• Substance Use Division: Minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery.
• Eating Disorder Division: Minimum 1 year recovery from eating disorder if in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all DBH policies and procedures.
• Provides exemplary customer service to all patients.
• Facilitates patient daily needs per the program schedule, including waking/bedtime routines, meals, and hygiene.
• Assists Nursing staff with duties as directed (e.g., patient supervision, vitals).
• Recognizes and assists in crisis situations and provides interventions as appropriate.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records.
• Monitors patient activity and documents shift notes and group notes timely.
• Maintains an organized and safe environment and performs basic housekeeping duties.
• Responsible for scheduled shifts and finding coverage when needed.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; completes all online training and HR documentation.

Education

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Valid State Driver’s License

CPI certification

CPR, AED, and First Aid certification

1 year sobriety if in recovery (Substance Use Division)

1 year recovery from eating disorder if in recovery (Eating Disorder Division)
