Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a hands-on Practice Manager to lead daily outpatient behavioral health operations in Raleigh, NC. You will supervise administrative and clinical support staff and own patient flow.

The role focuses on provider scheduling, billing coordination, HIPAA compliance, and building scalable systems as the practice grows. Friday afternoons offer remote work with potential for additional flexibility.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of outpatient medical practice operations experience.
• 1+ year of direct administrative or clinical support staff management experience.
• Hands-on experience with provider scheduling, patient intake, and medical insurance processes.
• Experience supporting HIPAA and healthcare regulatory compliance.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Calm, compassionate approach to patient concerns and challenging situations.
• Behavioral health, psychiatry, revenue cycle management, or patient retention experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily practice operations to create an efficient, welcoming environment for patients and providers.
• Supervise, coach, and support administrative and clinical support staff.
• Oversee provider scheduling, patient intake, appointment coordination, and daily patient flow.
• Improve patient retention by proactively addressing cancellations, no-shows, and scheduling challenges.
• Coordinate medical billing, insurance authorizations, and provider credentialing processes.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance, regulatory standards, and operational documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and strengthen the patient experience.
• Partner with leadership to develop scalable systems as our practice continues expanding.
