Job summary

South Coast Community Services seeks a Behavioral Health Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for individuals, families, and referral partners across San Bernardino and Orange Counties.

You will conduct needs screens, verify insurance benefits (Medi-Cal, managed care, and commercial plans), schedule assessments, and document in MyEvolve/EHR while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Strong communication and bilingual English/Spanish preferred are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in behavioral health intake, patient access, or healthcare operations.
• Ability to verify insurance benefits and communicate clearly about plans.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls, screen for program fit and payer eligibility.
• Schedule assessments and coordinate with Medi-Cal, managed care, and commercial plans.
• Enter accurate intake records in MyEvolve/EHR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
