Job summary

Northeast Family Services is hiring an Intake and Authorization Specialist to manage registration and admissions across five MA regions. The role includes answering calls, gathering referrals, verifying insurance, and scheduling appointments.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, with knowledge of payer portals, co-pays, deductibles, and health insurance benefits, and able to work within a multidisciplinary team including program directors and clinicians.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient intake and scheduling.
• Working knowledge of insurance benefits and authorizations.
• Prior MA Medicaid experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.
• Experience working with and helping clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of registration and admissions for five regions in Massachusetts.
• Answer incoming calls, gather referral information, and verify insurance coverage.
• Schedule clients’ appointments and coordinate with program teams.
• Collaborate with clinicians, directors, nurse practitioners, and peers to support clients.
