Job summary

Community Support Services in Akron, OH seeks an Intake Specialist to join the Intake & Assessment Team. You will provide diagnostic assessments for individuals seeking behavioral health services, complete required documentation, and coordinate referrals.

The role requires a Master’s degree and an LSW or LPC license, with experience in behavioral health and risk assessment. You will work full-time, collaborate with clinical leadership, and ensure confidentiality and quality care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
• LSW or LPC license required.
• Experience with severe and persistent mental illness desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic assessment services per agency procedures.
• Consult with supervisor on clinical concerns including risk assessment.
• Complete off-site intakes as assigned.
• Refer cases to appropriate agencies based on clinical need.
• Respond to clinical inquiries via email and phone.
• Follow up with individuals who miss intake appointments.
• Coordinate with the Engagement Team per protocols.
• Collaborate with local hospitals as requested.
• Conduct emergency assessments if designated Health Officer.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold client rights.
• Work full-time, standard business hours.
