Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD, is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Receptionist for the Behavioral Health Department who will welcome patients, answer inquiries, and help maintain a calm, organized reception area. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, with weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, days).

It requires a high school diploma and patient-service experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• At least one year of customer service experience in a medical/mental health setting.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and assists with check-in and admissions.
• Answers phones and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Assists with maintaining reception area and patient records.
• Updates patient accounts with personal and financial information.
• Ensures confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial data.
• Supports the department by managing supplies and equipment.
• Responds to emergencies and supports patients in distress.
• Works as part of the behavioral health team to deliver compassionate care.
