Job summary

Centria Autism in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a motivated Behavior Technician to work one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum under the supervision of a BCBA. Training is provided, and you will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors.

You should be patient, compassionate and able to work well in a team. Must be 18+, HS diploma or GED; CPR/First Aid and TB test may be required; lifting up to 50 pounds; pay

Qualifications

• Must be passionate about helping children with autism.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
• 18+ years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid Certification and TB test.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children under the guidance of a BCBA.
• Implement evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social and daily living skills.
• Assist in reducing interfering behaviors.
• Collaborate with team to support each child’s progress.
