Job summary

Capitol Academy and Capitol Elementary, Sacramento, CA, are seeking a Behavior Technician / Paraeducator & Transporter to support students with special needs in classroom and community settings.

Role involves applying behavior intervention strategies, data collection, and collaboration with BCBAs, teachers, and leadership to foster independence and positive behavior.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain it.
• Must pass fingerprint clearance and TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and academic support in small-group or 1:1 settings.
• Implement strategies under the guidance of BCBAs and teachers.
• Encourage positive social and communication skills.
• Maintain detailed data and documentation of student progress.
• Safely transport students using school vehicles (training provided).
• Communicate professionally with staff, students and families.

About the Role

Capitol Academy and Capitol Elementary are seeking motivated Behavior Technician / Paraeducator & Transporters who are enthusiastic about supporting students with special needs both in the classroom and throughout the community. This role supports students in achieving academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success by implementing behavior intervention strategies and assisting with classroom instruction under the direction of BCBAs, teachers and school leadership. This role collaborates closely with educators and related service providers to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment while promoting student independence and positive behavior.

We partner with local districts to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and socialemotional instruction in small class settings where teachers truly make an impact.
