Job summary

Building Connections Academy in Martinez, CA is seeking a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences. The role involves implementing individualized programs, collecting data, teaching communication, social, play, and life skills, and fostering a safe, engaging classroom.

In-person, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:00 PM, with additional availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s in related field preferred.
• RBT certification required or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students in a school setting.

Make an impact every day! Join a supportive, mission-driven team at Building Connections Academy (a special education nonpublic school with locations in Concord and Martinez, CA), where we help students grow, learn, and build independence.

About the Role:

• Hours: In-person, Monday to Friday between 8:30AM to 3:00PM.
• Minimum Availability: Monday to Friday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.
• Pay: $22-$28/HR (based on experience, certification, and education).
• Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required or willingness to become certified within 90 days (paid training included!).

As a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional, you’ll provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences. You’ll help students develop communication, social, and life skills while fostering a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment.

• Required immunizations including MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hep B, and TB clearance (within 4 years).
