Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support in home-based or community-based settings in California. You will work with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to build social and communication skills and support families by addressing challenging behaviors, under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Age 18+ required.
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development; or at least one year of experience with children in relevant roles.

• Work one-on-one with children and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar developmental delays.
• Help individuals build social and communication skills.
• Support families by addressing repetitive or restrictive behaviors.
• Follow behavior-change plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
• Collect and document progress, milestones, and session information accurately.
• Create encouraging, structured interactions during every session.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Passion for working with individuals with special needs
• Strong communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Either:
  • Completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development; or
  • At least one year of experience working with children as a Child Development professional, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Interventionist, ABA Therapist, or Behavior Technician
