Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit seeks a Behavior Assistant to provide intensive behavioral support within the Office of Student Services. The role works with K-12 and Transition-age students, implementing ABA strategies and data-driven progress monitoring.

Responsibilities include collaboration with IEP teams, direct intervention, and group or individual instructional support to foster independence and positive behaviors in a school setting. On-site in Norristown, PA.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree in psychology/education or related field; bachelor’s preferred.
• Current RBT certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
• Strong behavior management and ABA knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IEP teams to develop behavior assessments and plans.
• Provide direct intervention for students with intensive behavioral needs.
• Support students in group or individual instructional tasks.
• Implement ABA-based strategies to promote positive replacement behaviors.
• Assist with daily living tasks and transitions to maximize independence.
• Document progress and enter data in designated systems.
