Job summary

Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23 in PA is seeking a Behavior Assistant to provide intensive behavioral support and supervision for K-12 and Transition-age students within the Office of Student Services. The role uses ABA techniques and requires collaboration with IEP teams to implement plans.

The position offers growth, training, and a starting hourly rate with a PA Teaching Certification stipend. Qualifications include an Associate's degree (60 credits) and an active or pending RBT

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 credit hours in Psychology, Education, or behavior/mental health related field (required).
• Minimum 1 year experience with students with special needs, esp. autism/emotional disturbances.
• Current RBT certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IEP teams to develop and implement behavior assessments and plans.
• Provide direct intervention using behavior strategies and reinforcement.
• Support students individually or in groups toward goals.
• Implement and direct ABA-based behavior models per IEP.
• Assist with daily living tasks and transitions to maximize independence.
• Communicate progress with teachers and team.
• Use de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
