Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit seeks a Teacher Assistant to support teachers in the Office of Student Services for students at the Montgomery County Youth Center (MCYC). The role involves instructional support, behavior management, data collection, and assisting with individualized education programs in a secure correctional education setting.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; willingness to obtain PA Paraeducator Credential within one year.
• Associates degree or 48 credits or two years of post-secondary education; Bachelor's preferred.
• Background in special education or behavior support is preferred.
• Experience using data to monitor student progress and working with online learning systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to teachers and assist with daily lessons and activities.
• Support small-group and individual academic needs and materials prep.
• Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and record keeping while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support 1:1 or small-group student supervision and transitions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in trainings.
