Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a dedicated Behavior Intervention Specialist for Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio. The role focuses on supporting at‑risk students, implementing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, and collaborating with IEP teams to promote positive outcomes.

The candidate will work with staff to address crisis situations, monitor attendance, and contribute to a nurturing, college‑prep environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop BIP.
• Experience supporting at‑risk or behaviorally challenged students.
• Familiarity with IEP teams and behavior interventions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and school records systems.
• Ability to pass background checks and maintain professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Understand and address behavioral needs of students across ages.
• Develop and implement behavior tracking and intervention plans.
• Meet with students and collaborate with IEP teams.
• Serve as a consultant to administrators, teachers, and parents.
• Collaborate with staff on crisis intervention and related issues.
• Maintain accurate records aligned with school policies.
• Participate in school events, trainings, and duties as needed.
