Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. is seeking a Behavior Specialist to coordinate behavioral services in a school setting. You will manage BIPs, conduct FBAs, train staff, and monitor progress through data collection and graphing, under supervision of the Behavioral Services leadership.

The role requires PSCM and CPR certifications, experience with developmental disabilities, and collaboration with IEP teams to drive student outcomes.

Qualifications

• PCM certification within the timeline set by the department.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or RBT certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience with children with developmental disabilities; autism/behavioral challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and write FBA reports; present at IEP teams.
• Develop and update Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students on caseload.
• Initiate, monitor, and graph data; share progress with classroom teams.
• Train classroom staff in BIP implementation and data collection; monitor fidelity.
• Attend and present at IEP meetings; report on progress and outcomes.
• Coordinate and implement crisis management responses as part of school procedures.
• Facilitate the school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system.
• Document contacts with parents, transportation providers, and other agencies.
• Provide PCM trainings when certified and consult to bus staff when appropriate.
