Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. is hiring a Behavior Specialist to coordinate behavioral services for K-8 students and older youths in a nonpublic day program on the Southern Maryland Campus.

The role focuses on developing and implementing BIPs, conducting FBAs, and training staff while ensuring data-driven progress and crisis management procedures. Responsibilities include documenting and presenting FBA results, updating BIPs, and collaborating with classroom and related services staff.

Qualifications

• Must obtain PCM certification within department timeline.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• RBT or BCBA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and write reports.
• Develop Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIP) for caseload students.
• Monitor data collection, graphing, and progress on behavioural goals.
• Provide staff training on BIPs and data collection systems.
• Attend IEP meetings and present data and progress.
• Coordinate crisis management responses and school-wide supports.
