Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County in Minerva, Ohio, seeks Before & After School Assistant Teachers to support K-5 students in a caring, educational setting rooted in the YMCA mission. Part-time hours are 15–20 per week with a pay rate of $12.35 per hour.

You will lead activities, supervise, and help build strong relationships with families and school staff while supporting children’s growth and safety. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background check.

Before & After School Assistant Teachers who have a passion for working with children and their families in a caring, educational setting that is rooted in the mission of the YMCA, a non-profit, charity organization.

Hours: 15 - 20 per week

Pay Rate: $12.35/HR

• Serve as a professional role model for children grades K-5 by leading through example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors and creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision of all.
• Participate in and lead activities with students that include, but are not limited to, arts and crafts, sports, STEM, character education, and social and emotional skills .
• Build relationships with parents, school employees, administration and other adults in order to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Be a part of an amazing team of staff focused on teaching teamwork and social skills, and supporting children as they grow and learn.
• Partner and build relationships with parents, school employees, administration and other adults in order to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Execute State Licensing and Step Up to Quality requirements in order to provide a quality care environment.
