Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio) is seeking Before and After School Assistant Teachers to work with students in multiple districts. The roles involve morning and/or afternoon shifts, supervision, and leading activities for elementary students in a caring, educational setting aligned with the YMCA mission.

Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and can pass a background check.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Completed high school or GED program.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead arts, crafts, sports, STEM and social activities for K-5 students.
• Ensure safety and proper supervision during activities.
• Partner with parents, school staff and YMCA teams to support each child.
• Support compliance with state licensing and Step Up to Quality requirements.

Possible opportunities available in elementary schools and Y branches in Alliance, Northwest, Canton City, Jackson, North Canton, Lake (Hartville), Louisville, Perry, Plain and Minerva school districts.

Pay Rate:

$12.35 /HR

Who Are We Looking For?

Individuals who will...

• Serve as a professional role model for children grades K-5 by leading through example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors and creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision of all.
• Participate in and lead activities with students that include, but are not limited to, arts and crafts, sports, STEM, character education, and social and emotional skills.
• Partner and build relationships with parents, school employees, administration and other adults in order to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Be a part of an amazing team of staff focused on teaching teamwork and social skills, and supporting children as they grow and learn.
• Partner and build relationships with parents, school employees, administration and other adults in order to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Execute State Licensing and Step Up to Quality requirements in order to provide a quality care environment.
