Job summary

Right At School is seeking an enthusiastic Educator to lead before- and after-school activities at partner schools in the Libertyville, IL area. You’ll create engaging, safe environments for children, support learning, and collaborate with a productive team.

Position offers part-time hours (mornings and afternoons), competitive hourly pay, and opportunities to gain classroom experience while supporting families in your community.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.
