Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC an American Foods Group Company, is seeking personnel for carcass and carcass part sorting to identify abnormal conditions before inspection. The role focuses on separating abnormal from normal carcasses, heads, and viscera while adhering to FSIS regulations and internal procedures.

The position requires high attention to detail in a fast-paced meat processing environment with PPE, training at hire, and potential for education of others.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures and around moving equipment with PPE.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass and carcass parts to determine abnormalities exist.
• Perform preparation (e.g., cuts) and presentation activities.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures (e.g., heads, tongues, viscera, carcass).
• Notify the proper person if a suspect animal or carcass has a reportable or foreign animal disease.
• Attend training at hire and annual refresher training as needed.
• Must be willing to train and educate others.
