Job summary

America's Heartland Packing in Wright City, MO is seeking a sorter to identify abnormalities in carcasses and parts, separating normal from abnormal materials before inspection. You will observe, palpate, and incise to detect issues, perform cuts and presentation steps, and ensure compliance with FSIS regulations and company procedures.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, ability to work in varied temperatures, and the willingness to train others.

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass and carcass parts to determine abnormalities.
• Perform preparation (e.g., cuts) and presentation activities.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures (e.g., heads, tongues, viscera, carcass).
• Notify the proper person if a reportable or foreign animal disease is suspected during sorting.
• Attend training at hire and annual refresher training as needed.
• Willing to train and educate others.
