Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is a privately held beef processing company based in Long Prairie, Minnesota. This role focuses on sorting carcass and carcass parts, identifying abnormalities before presenting to inspectors, ensuring separation of abnormal from normal materials.

You will observe, palpate, and incise to determine defects, and participate in training and education of others.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of food safety and quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of beef anatomy is preferred for recognizing parts of the carcass.

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass and carcass parts to determine abnormalities.
• Perform preparation and presentation activities for carcasses and parts.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures for heads, tongues, viscera, and carcass.
• Notify supervisors if a reportable or foreign animal disease is suspected.
• Attend training at hire and refresher training as needed.
• Willingness to train and educate others.
• Additional related duties may be assigned.
