Job summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Patient Safety Assistant to provide direct supervision for patients at risk and assist with daily activities. The role requires staying with patients, ensuring safety, and reporting to the RN and team.

The position is full-time, with 36 hours per week, offering opportunities to contribute to a high-quality care environment and participate in educational and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak, understand, read and write English.
• CPR certification (Healthcare provider) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct observation for patients requiring supervision for safety.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, hygiene, feeding).
• Maintains patient in direct line of vision and uses infection control practices.
• Escorts and assists patients with ambulatory privileges and stays with patient at all times.
• Documents patient behaviors and interventions in the EMR.
• Communicates patient and unit information to RN and team in a timely manner.
