Job summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General is seeking a Part-time Patient Safety Assistant (.6 FTE, 24 hrs/week) to provide direct supervision and support for patients requiring safety oversight. You will stay with patients, assist with activities of daily living, and document observations in the medical record, contributing to a safe, compassionate care environment.

The role emphasizes bedside presence, teamwork with RNs, infection control, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare provider CPR certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision/line of sight to patients with safety concerns.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Interacts with patients to provide diversionary activities and ensure dignity and privacy.
• Keeps patient care area free of hazards; documents observations in the medical record.
