Job summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is hiring a Hospital Based Patient Advocate in Conway, SC. This full-time, 32-hour-per-week role is 100% onsite at a hospital, with shifts Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 11:00 AM–5:30 PM and Friday–Saturday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

You will meet patients in their hospital rooms to assess eligibility for federal/state programs, guide enrollment, and document outcomes. Strong communication, multitasking, and familiarity with Microsoft Office are needed; prior hospital

Qualifications

• Some college coursework preferred.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability with changing processes, computer systems and government programs.
• Professional experience with state and federal programs.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Able to move around the hospital and patients' rooms during shift.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Clear oral and written communication with diverse people.
• Able to multitask to meet performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.
• Dress code compliance for hospital-based roles.
• Hybrid remote-work requirements and HIPAA/PHI handling compliance.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal/state/county programs.
• Complete applications and follow through until approved.
• Document cases accurately in Elevate PFS and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
• Handle calls and track enrollment paperwork for Medicaid patients.
• Communicate with agencies by phone and via the daily work queue.
• Assist applicants with gathering reports and arranging transportation as needed.
• Conduct in-person community visits to obtain documentation.
• Inform clients of approvals/denials promptly and clearly.
• Attend ongoing training on program rules and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
