Elevate Patient Financial Solutions seeks a Hospital Based Patient Advocate in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, onsite role places you in patients’ hospital rooms to guide uninsured patients through financial assistance programs, identifying eligibility and assisting with applications.

You will perform bedside screening, complete applications, document thoroughly, and coordinate with hospital staff and government agencies, while meeting privacy and HIPAA requirements and maintaining regular

Qualifications

• Some college coursework preferred.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability to changing processes and systems.
• Experience with state and federal programs.
• Strong critical thinking.
• Ability to move through hospital and rooms.
• MS Office Excel/Outlook proficiency.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Multitasking in fast-paced environment.
• Dress code compliance.
• Hybrid remote work readiness per policy (HIPAA/PHI).

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal/state/county assistance.
• Complete the appropriate applications and follow through until approved.
• Document thoroughly in Elevate PFS and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers and social workers.
• Handle calls and track enrollment/renewal paperwork for Medicaid.
• Maintain contact with applicant and government agencies as needed.
• Assist with gathering documents and arrange transportation if needed.
• Conduct in-person community visits to collect documentation.
• Inform clients of approvals/denials per protocols.
• Attend ongoing training on current rules and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
