Job summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions® is hiring a Hospital Based Patient Advocate in Laurel, MS to guide uninsured patients through Medicaid and other assistance programs at the bedside. This on-site position focuses on screening, enrollment, and close collaboration with hospital staff to ensure timely access to coverage.

You will work face-to-face with patients, document thoroughly, and stay up-to-date on rules governing federal and state programs.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to multitask to meet performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability to changing processes and programs.
• Experience with state and federal programs a plus.
• Attention to detail and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.
• Complete the appropriate applications and follow through until approved.
• Document cases accurately in Elevate PFS and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts and track progress.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, and social workers.
• Answer incoming calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork for enrollment/renewal for Medicaid patients.
• Maintain timely contact with applicants and government agencies.
