Qualifications

• 7+ years in manufacturing with 5+ years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to solve math problems and interpret numbers in production.
• Fluent in written and spoken English with clear communication.
• Experience leading unionized manufacturing employees.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and ISO/QS 9000 principles.
• Working knowledge of robotic/automatic welding systems.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Beam Weld Department operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
• Review schedules, priorities, tools, and equipment to meet customer/shipping requirements.
• Coordinate beam weld cells, changeovers, inspection, material handling, and supporting ops.
• Monitor output, cycle times, downtime, scrap, and adjust actions to stay on plan.
• Verify proper setup and operation of welding equipment, fixtures, and conveyors.
• Ensure welds meet drawings and customer quality standards; oversee first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Investigate defects with Quality/Engineering and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to prioritize breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
• Plan and manage tool/changeovers to minimize downtime and ensure safe returns to production.
• Lead shift-starts and daily floor communications on safety, priorities, and performance.
