Job summary

Methuen School Department seeks a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the 2026-2027 school year. Availability is contingent upon sufficient funding and enrollment.

The BCBA will oversee and coordinate the behavioral program, provide assessments and interventions, train staff, and collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and external agencies. Qualified candidates must have MA BCBA license; Master's degree preferred; experience with functional behavior assessments and behavior

Qualifications

• Licensed by MA Board to practice BCBA/ABA.
• Massachusetts license from appropriate board, if applicable.
• Master's degree in related field preferred.
• Experience overseeing a behavioral program with staff training and coordination with staff/agencies.
• Experience and knowledge of behavioral interventions and assessments; expertise in behavioral systems, intervention plans and FBA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and coordination of a behavioral program, including programming, behavioral system development, social skills programming, staff training, and coordination with staff and agencies.
• Provide behavioral assessments, interventions and teacher consultations for students with behavioral challenges.
• Coordinate creation and management of behavioral intervention plans and functional behavioral assessments for identified students.
• Provide staff training in functional behavioral assessments, data collection, behavior plans and related interventions.
• Collaborate with building administrators, guidance counselors, teachers and parents.
• Serve as liaison between school and outside agencies as appropriate.
• Consult with parents regarding educational, social and emotional progress and needs of their children.

THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT

TITLE: BCBA (Board Certified Behavioral Analyst)

SCHOOL YEAR: 2026-2027

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed by the Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Applied Behavior Analyst.
• Master's degree in related field preferred
• Massachusetts license from appropriate state licensing board, if appropriate
• Experience in and/or expertise in overseeing a behavioral program, including programming, staff training, and coordinating with various staff and agencies.
• Experience and knowledge of providing behavioral interventions and assessments, including expertise in creating and managing a behavioral system, behavioral intervention plans and functional behavioral assessments
• Ability to work with students having social, behavioral and/or mental health challenges, and to oversee staff working directly with students in the program
• Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and coordinate the continuing development of a behavioral program, including programming, development of behavioral system, social skills programming, staff training, and coordinating with various staff and agencies.
• Provide behavioral assessments, interventions and teacher consultations for students identified with, or suspected of, having behavioral challenges
• Coordinate the creation and management of behavioral intervention plans and functional behavioral assessments for identified students
• Provide training for the staff in conducting functional behavioral assessments, data collection, behavior plans and other behavioral assessments and interventions
• Work in coordination with building administrators, guidance counselors, teachers and parents
• As appropriate, serve as the liaison between the school and appropriate outside agencies
• Confer with parents regarding the educational, social and emotional progress and needs of their children

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Ten month year; Salary to be determined (Unit A contract if certified teacher)
