Salary: $63,244.50 to $114,265 Per Year

Job Location: Woburn Public Schools, Woburn, Massachusetts

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is an employee member of the school staff designated by the Superintendent of Schools to provide direct and consultative behavior analytic, therapeutic, and evaluative services for diagnostic, prevention, and intervention purposes. The BCBA develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students with developmental and other disabilities—including Autism Spectrum Disorder—and provides staff development on the implementation of protocols, data collection, and progress monitoring techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with team members regarding behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations, social skills, and provide staff with resources, tools, and in-class modeling of techniques.
  • Oversee and provide consultation to ABA paraprofessionals and other school staff regarding programming and IEP implementation, and attend IEP meetings as directed by the Student Services Director or designee.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of behavior plans for in‑classroom implementation and assess progress and effectiveness of behavior plans and curriculum modifications for both general and special education students.
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBA) to develop and refine Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Communicate BIPs to relevant staff, provide professional development for successful implementation, and monitor fidelity to BIPs.
  • Coordinate communications between home and school, provide consultation and recommendations to parents regarding behavior and social issues, and offer home assessments or observations upon request.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to develop, monitor, and adjust home‑based goals and objectives for students and parents.
  • Assist in transitioning students from Early Intervention Programs and community agencies to school programs.
  • Engage in social and behavioral elements of the annual IEP process—including attendance at team meetings, updating performance data, developing goals/benchmarks, progress reports, and annual summaries—as needed.
  • Conduct home or off‑site assessments and support students’ transition into the district or other settings.
  • Provide parent consultation and training off‑site or outside school hours as necessary.
  • Consult with outside agencies and providers to ensure wraparound supports for students in need.
  • Support students in the Extended School Year (ESY) program.
  • Alert Student Services Coordinators or the Director to concerns regarding student progress, staff competence, or necessary retraining.
  • Escalate problematic concerns to the Student Services Director in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendents, Principal, or Director of Student Services.
Prerequisite Training and Experience
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) (mandatory).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults (mandatory).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
