Job summary

Escuela in Oak Hill, TX seeks a BBQ Production Cook to join the team. You will prep raw products, operate our 1000-gallon smokers, and portion cooked meats and vegetables for service.

Training is provided; candidates should be comfortable with knives and fast-paced kitchen environments. The ideal candidate has experience with BBQ techniques, is able to work early mornings, and can handle lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar kitchen role preferred.
• Ability to operate professional-grade kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of BBQ techniques and recipes.
• Must meet physical demands including standing and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Texas Food Handlers Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment.
• Prepping raw product.
• Operating our 1000-gallon smokers.
• Quality control of high-volume cookery.
• Maintain inventory levels and restock as needed.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Participate in daily kitchen opening or closing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by our chef team.
