Job summary

Walt Churchill’s Market in Maumee, OH is seeking a full-time BBQ Pitmaster to lead daily smokehouse operations and support deli initiatives.

The role combines culinary expertise with event planning and customer service to drive sales while upholding safety and quality standards. Evening, weekend shifts required.

You will train staff, manage inventory, and collaborate with management to align offerings with brand goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with food safety knowledge.
• Proven leadership and customer service experience in deli or smokehouse.
• Hands-on smoking/grilling experience and food safety training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, smoke, and cook meats with consistent quality, flavor, and presentation.
• Develop and test new smoked products under guidance of Deli leadership.
• Maintain smokehouse equipment and follow cleaning schedule.
• Manage meat, wood, rubs, sauces, and supply inventories.
• Collaborate with Deli team for production, catering, and events.
• Lead front-of-store promotions and drive deli sales growth.
