Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Grandview, MO is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the production of flight battery hardware across multiple lines. You will manage a production team, assign coverage, and oversee quality records and documentation for builds.

Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and performance management; daily build plan execution; safety compliance with high voltage and hazardous materials; driving continuous improvement and cost control.

Qualifications

• Weakly described expectation to lead or direct the work of others.
• Experience in production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience working to controlled work instructions and maintaining quality records.
• Proficiency with schedule, shortage, and inventory analysis using ERP/MRP.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a production team—assignments, coverage, cross-training, overtime, attendance, timecards, and certification currency.
• Assist in hiring, coaching, and managing performance; partner with HR on employee relations and conflicts.
• Own daily execution of the build plan—production board, throughput to rate, labor efficiency, and blocker escalation.
• Own quality and workmanship—released work instructions, records, and buyoffs; manage defects and containment.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality on stoppages, nonconformances, and training; support audits.
• Own floor safety and compliance—high voltage, stored energy, PPE, hazardous materials, and export control.
• Run daily Gemba and shift handoff; lead continuous improvement—5S, standard work, cycle time; support business reviews.
