Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Project Manager, Battery & Avionics, to lead multidisciplinary teams in integrating and qualifying power and avionics systems for aerospace platforms. You will oversee projects from concept to delivery, ensuring performance, safety, and reliability across battery and avionics domains.

The role requires coordination across electrical, mechanical, software, and test teams, with a focus on risk management and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects integrating battery systems and avionics technologies.
• Develop comprehensive project plans addressing dependencies between power and avionics.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, software engineers and test personnel.
• Manage technical interfaces between battery systems, power distribution and avionics subsystems.
• Oversee design, development and qualification testing of integrated battery and avionics solutions.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation for battery safety, performance and avionics reliability.
• Facilitate design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and status updates with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with regulatory compliance teams to meet applicable standards (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, UN 38.3).
• Manage supplier relationships for battery cells, BMS, and avionics components.
• Track project metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Balance priorities between power requirements and avionics functionality.
• Generate status reports and communicate project health to leadership.
• Support continuous improvement across battery operations and avionics development.
