Job summary

Blue Origin, Grandview, MO, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead flight battery hardware production on multiple lines. You will manage a production team, ensure safety protocols for high voltage and lithium-ion systems, and drive on-time build plan execution while maintaining quality records.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, optimizing throughput, and coordinating with engineering and quality to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in manufacturing/operations or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years in production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading or directing the work of others.
• Experience working to controlled work instructions and maintaining quality records.
• MRP/ERP/Outlook proficiency for schedule, shortage, and inventory analysis.
• Designated shift with extended hours and floor-based physical demands.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. export control regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a production team with assignments, coverage, cross-training, overtime, attendance, timecards, and certification currency.
• Assist in hiring, coaching, and managing performance; partner with HR on employee relations and conflict management, and with EHS on ergonomics and restricted duty.
• Own daily execution of the build plan—production board, throughput to rate, labor efficiency, and blocker escalation.
• Own quality and workmanship—released work instructions, records and buyoffs, yield and defect trends, and corrective action to closure; exercise stop-work authority.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality on stoppages, nonconformances, rework, and work instruction accuracy; communicate changes and train the team; support audits.
• Own floor safety and compliance—high voltage, stored energy, lithium-ion, ESD, lockout/tagout, PPE, hazardous material and battery waste; investigate incidents and lead first response to battery events.
• Run daily Gemba and shift handoff; lead continuous improvement—5S, standard work, layout, cycle time; support business reviews with metrics and recovery plans; manage controllable costs and support new product introduction.
