Job summary

Ultium Cells LLC in Warren, OH is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate daily and weekly manufacturing schedules, manage inventory levels, and support purchasing activities. You will collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure on-time delivery and efficient flow across the electrode department.

The role emphasizes accurate production-related processes, cost visibility, and adherence to safety standards while driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or related work.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning processes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams.
• Proficient computer skills including Excel, ERP systems, and manufacturing systems.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for the Electrode Department to support targets and demand.
• Monitor production performance, inventory levels, manpower, and material flow to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate and track purchasing activities including PRs, POs, deliveries, and goods receipt status.
• Review purchasing transactions for accuracy and follow up on open items or discrepancies.
• Report purchasing concerns and material shortages to leadership for timely resolution.
• Support cost tracking and spending visibility with accurate records.
• Synchronize information flow between logistics and purchasing systems.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Monitor material inventories to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Assist with capacity planning, downtime coordination, and schedule adjustments.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and purchasing processes.
• Adhere to safety standards and operational procedures.
