Job summary

InstantServe LLC seeks experienced Batch Operations Technicians to support daily enterprise batch processing activities within the NC FAST system from Raleigh, NC. These onsite roles require you to execute, monitor, and troubleshoot batch processes, support overnight production operations, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in batch operations, UNIX/Mainframe/Windows environments, and SQL; rotating shifts and after-hours coverage

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a GMI Operator or GMI Operations Support Specialist.
• 5+ years of experience in batch operations, batch processing, job scheduling, and monitoring tools.
• Strong experience monitoring and managing batch steps and responding to user queries.
• Experience with UNIX, Mainframe, and Windows operating systems.
• Basic SQL programming and relational database knowledge.
• Experience executing shell scripts in UNIX or similar environments.
• Ability to review and analyze system logs and processing exceptions.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and handling priority incidents.
• Strong communication skills when working with business users, internal teams, external clients, and development teams.
• Experience documenting processes, procedures, and operational activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and identify operational improvements.

Responsibilities

• Execute, monitor, and manage batch processing activities in production environments.
• Monitor batch steps, job schedules, and workflows to ensure successful completion.
• Verify batch results and support nightly production operations across multiple servers.
• Perform first-level analysis of data interface exceptions, processing errors, and system logs.
• Troubleshoot batch failures, resolve operational issues, and troubleshoot unresolved problems according to established support procedures.
• Collaborate with functional teams, application support, and development teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Analyze production workflows and recommend improvements to batch scheduling and job performance.
• Provide rapid operational support during production outages and assist with workload automation forecasting.
• Support backup and recovery processes to meet business continuity and SLA requirements.
• Work with business stakeholders and application support teams to define service levels and incident management procedures.
• Document operational processes, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions.
• Communicate issues, progress, and status updates effectively to business users and technical teams.

Job Overview

Seeking experienced Batch Operations Technicians to support daily enterprise batch processing activities within the NC FAST system.

The selected candidates will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and troubleshooting batch processes, supporting overnight production operations, analyzing processing exceptions, and ensuring timely resolution of operational issues.

Candidates must be available to work rotating shifts outside standard business hours.

Shift Requirements

Candidates must be available to rotate between the following shifts:

• 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• 1:00 AM – 9:00 AM
