Job summary

AVANGRID SERVICE COMPANY is seeking an Associate Analyst – Production Control in Orange, CT / Boston, MA to monitor batch jobs and support automation efforts. This on-site position emphasizes timely batch processing, issue troubleshooting, and collaboration with application teams to ensure critical workflows run smoothly.

The role offers exposure to Control‑M, UC4, Autosys, and SAP batch environments, with opportunities for growth, on‑the‑job training, and a strong operations focus within IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field; 1+ year of IT operations, production support, or job scheduling.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with documentation abilities.
• Basic hands‑on experience with enterprise job scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of Unix/AIX/Wintel operating systems.
• Knowledge of IBM utilities, shell scripting, Python and/or PowerShell for automation.
• Troubleshooting skills, reviewing logs, and fixing jobs/automated batch processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and execute batch jobs using enterprise scheduling tools (Control‑M, UC4, Autosys).
• Ensure timely completion of daily and nightly batch processing under SLAs.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine job failures using documented procedures.
• Support consistency of batch schedules across development, testing, and production environments.
• Assist with basic scripting and job automation tasks and performance enhancements.
• Assist in developing Production Support standards and procedures.
• Support application teams with job scheduling requests and production issues.
• Work independently on projects specialized for Production Support.
• Provide technical assistance to applications and operations area.
• Participate in incident, change, and problem management per ITSM processes.
• Assist in generating operational reports and dashboards; support audit readiness and compliance.
• On a rotating basis, provide on-call support 24x7.
