Job summary

The Athletic Assistant, under general supervision, provides a broad range of administrative support to the Athletics Department and assists the head coach in team administration and management, including practicing sessions and monitoring student athlete progress.

Responsibilities include coordinating travel arrangements, updating databases, assisting in recruitment and campus visits, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and university rules. Evening/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one year coaching assistance experience or three years of coaching assistance and playing experience.
• May not be a current undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with administrative responsibilities.
• Analyze and distribute video information.
• Coordinate and schedule practice sessions.
• Assist with arrangements for team travel, hotel accommodation and other related needs.
• Update various student athlete databases.
• Assist in recruiting efforts and organize on-campus visits by prospective student athletes.
• Assist with summer camps.
• Assist the head coach in monitoring the eligibility of student athletes.
• Maintain familiarity with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
• Establish and enforce communications of rules and regulations for student athletes.
