Job summary

The Athletic Assistant, under general supervision, provides a broad range of administrative support to the Athletics Department and assists the head coach in team administration and management, including practicing sessions and monitoring student athlete progress.

Responsibilities include coordinating travel arrangements, updating databases, assisting in recruitment and campus visits, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and university rules. Evening/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one year coaching assistance experience or three years of coaching assistance and playing experience.
• May not be a current undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University.

Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach with administrativeresponsibilities.
• Analyze and distribute video information.
• Coordinate and schedule practice sessions
• Assist with arrangements for team travel, hotel accommodationand other related needs.
• Updates various student athlete databases.
• Assists in recruiting efforts. Organizes on-campus visits byprospective student athletes. Provides tours of campus athletic facilities.
• Assists with summer camps.
• Assist the head coach in monitoring the eligibility of student athletes.
• Assist the head coach at practices and related responsibilities as needed.
• Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
• Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning the student athletes: conduct, appearance, punctuality and other areas as deemed appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive public relations program.
• Develops and distributes scouting reports on opponents, analyzing opponents' film and scouting reports.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Bachelor's Degree in from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Experience - A minimum of one year previous high school or collegiate level coaching assistance experience or three years of a combination of coaching assistance and playing experience.
• May not be a current undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:

• General knowledge of NCAA rules.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Ability to:

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Licensing / Professional Certification:

• CPR Certification and First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment

Pay of Rate: $14.43/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
