Job summary

Daikin Applied seeks a full-time Controls Technician II in Knoxville, TN, to install, program, and service commercial building digital control systems. You will work onsite and collaborate with HVAC technicians while advancing your troubleshooting and programming skills on Daikin and third-party BAS platforms.

The role emphasizes customer service, preventative maintenance, commissioning, and documentation, with ongoing training and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical training and 3+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required.
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
• Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
• Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
• Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
• Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner.
• Interact and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.
