Job summary

Jobot is hiring an HVAC Controls Engineer/Project Manager in NYC to lead BAS projects from design through commissioning. Responsibilities include systems integration, optimization, and full replacements with project financials and customer satisfaction for multi-building controls initiatives.

The role requires a technical degree, 4+ years of HVAC/controls experience, BACnet/Modbus/Niagara familiarity, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics, preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong interest in building automation and controls required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in the HVAC/controls industry.
• BACnet, Modbus, Niagara Experience Required.
• DDC controller programming, third party device integration with BACnet and Modbus Required.
• Experience with mechanical system operation.
• Basic understanding of the construction process preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiating and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending, and billing programs.
• Produce drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material of building automation systems for submission to project Engineers/teams.
• Develop BMS software databases (programming and graphics) in accordance with engineering documents and project specifications.
• Design, integrate and support network migration for Internet / Ethernet / BACnet / Modbus platforms.
• Maintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in AutoCAD, Visio, Excel and Word as required.
• Visit the field as necessary to adjust design sequences to operate correctly with the actual system(s) and remain on site as necessary to complete functional checkout and commissioning activities in support of technicians to meet project schedules.
